Resistance training is a type of exercise that improves the strength of the muscles in your body. This is done by lifting weights or using exercise bands.

Can I Do Resistance Training?
Everyone can do resistance training! It is never too late to start.
Talk to your doctor and cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation team to make sure your program is safe for you if you have certain health conditions such as:
- high blood pressure
- abdominal or inguinal hernias that have not been repaired
- untreated glaucoma
- eye complications from diabetes
- muscle or joint problems (shoulder, back, knee)
- difficulty getting up from the floor
